From today on a real Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is highlighting the entrance of the university.  The TBM was designed by BABENDERERDE ENGINEERS in 1991 and constructed by the Neptun Werft in Rostock, Germany.  At its new location it symbolizes the interaction between theoretic knowledge and practical application.  The fresh repainted TBM was handed over during a small ceremony to the University of Lübeck.
