During the last weekend of October after adequate preparation work and detailed designing, BABENDERERDE ENGINEERS as certified specialists have conducted the hyperbaric interventions for Braumann Spezialtiefbau.
The interventions have been successfully completed according to plan.
The works was essential in order to perform inspection of tools and cutter head structure as well as sampling of the soil from the tunnel face.  Before the intervention started, a test sluicing and rescue exercise including a rescue of a laborer from the working chamber to the surface took place.
Critical location of intervention, directly underneath the train tracks of SBB and the very limited space due to small machine dimensions of the AVN1600-TB have made the task challenging.
